Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your city and bio. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
Profile information: Skills you list, projects you create, your availability, and your portfolio links. This information is displayed publicly to other users to facilitate skill matching.
Usage data: We collect information about how you use the Platform, including pages visited, features used, swap activity, and workspace interactions. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized usage statistics.
Payment information: Payment processing in India is handled by Razorpay. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or UPI IDs. We receive transaction confirmations, subscription IDs, and billing dates from Razorpay. For international payments, Paddle.com Market Limited acts as our Merchant of Record. Paddle processes payments, handles tax obligations, and manages subscription billing. Paddle may collect your name, email, billing address, and payment method. Communications: Messages sent through the Platform's workspace chat are stored to provide the chat functionality. We do not read private messages unless required to investigate abuse reports.

Our AI matching feature uses your skills, project details, and profile information to find compatible partners. For Pro users, this data may be processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate match narratives. Free users are matched using our algorithmic engine without sending data to external AI services. Match results are not stored permanently — they are generated on request.

Your data is stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own data. All API communications use HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored in secure, HttpOnly cookies.
We use essential cookies for authentication (Supabase session cookies). We use Google Analytics cookies for anonymized usage tracking. We store your region preference (India/Global) in localStorage — this is not a cookie and is not sent to our servers.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Chat messages are retained for the duration of the swap workspace. After account deletion, we remove personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, payment records).
SkillVow is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.
SkillVow serves users globally. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including India and the United States (where our service providers operate). By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer. We ensure all service providers maintain appropriate data protection standards.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
